Laboratory Facilities
The LaCASA Laboratory is located in the Engineering Building, Room 229.
- Computing equipment. The laboratory is equipped with 15 PC workstations (double boot RedHat Fedora 2 / Windows 2000) and several Sun Ultra workstations. These computers support architectural simulation software, development tools for application software, tools for performance analysis, tools for embedded systems/sensor nodes software development, and commercial CAD tools for hardware design and rapid prototyping. We have also access to a 24-node cluster machine.
- Prototyping Hardware: The laboratory have several prototyping platforms featuring various Xilinx CPLDs and FPGA devices (Cool Runner 2, Spartan 2, Spartan 3, Virtex 1000, Virtex 2 Pro). The prototyping stations feature all necessary software tools for logic desing, simulation, application software development, and programming of logic devices.
- Test/Measurement Equipment: The laboratory is equiped with oscilloscopes, signal generators, digitial multimeters, digital acquisition cards, and sensors as well as with the corresponding software for various test and measurement tasks.
