LaCASA
The Laboratory for Advanced Computer Architectures and Systems
Welcome to the LaCASA
The Laboratory for Advanced Computer Architectures and Systems
is a
research group within the Department of Electrical and Computer
Engineering at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. The LaCASA
laboratory is directed by Dr. Aleksandar Milenković.
Dramatic changes in semiconductor technology, applications,
and
markets make research in computer architecture crucial in
our quest for computing systems with maximum performance, maximum
reliability and availability, minimal design, manufacturing, and
operational cost, and minimal size. The LaCASA Laboratory seeks for
advanced computer architectures and new techniques for designing and
evaluation of computer systems.
In particular, the LaCASA Laboratory is currently focusing on
the
following areas:
- Hardware
Support for
Software
Integrity (Secure Processors)
- Trace Compression
- TinyHMS (Tiny Wireless Sensor Networks for Health Monitoring)
- Performance Evaluation
- Workload
Characterization
- Bridging the CPU-Memory Speed Gap
